SNMPc is a secure distributed network management system which delivers proactive real-time monitoring for your entire network infrastructure. Advanced product features and legendary ease of use have led to over 120,000 network managers trusting SNMPc to monitor their mission critical networks.
SNMPc from Castle Rock Computing is a secure high availability network monitoring solution for both Enterprises and Small Businesses. Castle Rock is fully focused on providing you with market leading technology in its network management software. SNMPc will allow you to take control of your network, regardless of size or complexity.
Enterprise Edition
SNMPc Enterprise Edition is the base system for a scalable multi-user environment. Enterprise Edition includes the SNMPc Server license, one Remote Console license, and one Remote Poller license. This system can be used simultaneously by two users, one at the server system and another at a Remote Console system. Additional Enterprise only features include Advanced Web based Trend Reporting, ability to run as a service, ODBC Database Export, live/standby server support.
SNMPc supports a multi-level hierarchical map. Each hierarchy can represent cities, buildings, or sub-networks. Imported bitmaps of geographic maps or floor plans, along with manual or automatic network placement, lets you create a layout that closely matches the actual network.
SNMPc can automatically lay out each map network as a tree, ring, or bus topology. Each map object uses a device specific or user selected icon, and the object color indicates the device status. You can start any device specific application by double clicking map icons. The Map Navigation Tool Window displays the map as a tree for direct selection of objects. The Navigation tree also displays the current alarm status of each subnet to quickly locate failing devices.
SNMPc Enterprise Edition employs a distributed polling agent architecture to provide a high performance solution capable of monitoring networks from several hundred devices to tens of thousands. Remote software and Web based consoles provide network information to everyone who needs it.
SNMPc automatically discovers and polls SNMP devices, allows you to collect network statistics and automatically generates Trend Reports. The distributed polling architecture makes it easy to manage networks that span multiple sites. In the event of a network problem (device failure, high Utilisation, low disk capacity) SNMPC will generate an email or pager alert. You can manage your network remotely with the Windows Client and JAVA WEB Consoles and export map topology, trend statistics and event log entries to other databases.

Online Edition
SNMPc OnLine is an add-on module for the company’s SNMPc Network Management System. It delivers a unified web based reporting front end for network statistics, alerts and node information. The 2007 release adds the capability to display Microsoft Visio® network drawings associated with subsets of the SNMPc topology map.
Companies which currently use Visio to document their network infrastructure can quickly create a highly customized representation of their managed network by directly importing existing Visio diagrams into SNMPc OnLine. Network managers will also benefit from the many included symbol types and the extensive drawing capabilities of the Visio application when creating new network drawings. Visio stencils, templates and drawings are available from many network device vendors and third party developers.
The use of Visio drawings is fully integrated into the SNMPc monitoring and management paradigm. SNMPc OnLine changes the color of Visio symbols to represent the status of associated devices, links and networks. Each symbol can also be clicked on to drill down into other Visio drawings or to display a detailed node information page. Visio diagrams can be shown as full page displays or as part of custom “dashboard” collections including network, event and report views.
SNMPc OnLine provides ‘out of the box’ automated collection and presentation of pre-canned reports that deliver key network metrics such as availability and latency, device types such as routers, switches and servers. SNMPc OnLine also provides the flexibility to monitor any vendor specific management data.
SNMPc OnLine also integrates with the SNMPc alarm system, including the ability to monitor SNMP alerts. The integrated view of data reporting and alert collection on a single console greatly simplifies the task of proactively monitoring today’s heterogeneous network environments.
Using a simple Graphical User Interface, SNMPc OnLine users can easily design or adapt customized report views. A wide variety of graphs, charts and reporting styles are offered. Building a custom front end enables network managers to deliver personalized content to everyone in the organization who needs it.
The addition of Microsoft Visio support to SNMPc OnLine provides a new level of flexibility in network presentation which at the same time is fully integrated with the underlying SNMPc Management platform. SNMPc OnLine 2007 will be available in August and will be sold as a bundle with SNMPc Enterprise or with SNMPc Workgroup.
